Thousands of Pennsylvanians may be in for a holiday season surprise!
According to Treasurer Stacy Garrity, over 140,000 Pennsylvanians will receive a collective $12 million for having Christmas-themed names like “Santa, Kris, Kringle, and Nicholas.”
“Whether you’re spending time with your family over Christmas vacation or staying home alone this holiday season, it’s quick and easy to search for some of the $4 billion in unclaimed property waiting at Treasury,” Garrity said in a press release.
After three years of dormancy, the state typically requires businesses to report unclaimed property to Treasury, according to the press release.
