With the Fourth of July holiday coming up early next week, this weekend is relatively quiet for events in Anchorage. You can check out the Brown Bear Fest down the inlet at the Brown Bear Saloon in Indian, and Jazz in the Park returns after a solstice hiatus. Here’s a sampling of the weekend’s events.The Brown Bear Fest features bands like The Jephries, Loaded Karma and Evolution of a Thursday at the legendary Brown Bear Saloon. Cover is $30, which covers both music and food.
Anaya Latin Dance and Anchorage Downtown Partnership are collaborating on this event, which starts with an hour of dance instruction, followed by two hours of dancing.After taking a one-week break for summer solstice, Jazz in the Park returns on Saturday afternoon. This time it’s the A-Town Sharps who will be providing the good vibes and tasteful music. Bring a lawn chair or some picnic materials and join in the fun.
