: New Dos Maderas occupies the tiny niche of double cask aged rums, using an innovative two-step ageing process in different locations and climates. A premium wine and spirit producer for nearly a century and a half, Willams & Humbert was founded in 1877 by two British brothers-in-law, and is one of the most prominent producers of sherry and brandy, with 1200-acres of prime vineyards in Jerez, producing the famous Dry Sack Sherry label.
Maison Ferrand purchased the West Indies Rum Distillery in Barbados in 2017, and as a result is now a minority owner of Jamaica’s legendary Long Pond and Clarendon Jamaican distilleries. Xaymaca Special Dry is a blend of rums distilled in the old John Dore pot still at Long Pond and the Vendome pot still at Clarendon. After a first maturation in Jamaica in bourbon casks, it goes to France and into cognac casks.
