Daily News | This N.J. teenager thought she was buying a car, but got a trip to Hawaii instead
When Kabrina Clark stepped into a South Jersey Subaru dealership on Tuesday, she thought she was going to select a car for her 18th birthday.
Every year, about 700 critically ill New Jersey children and about 15,000 nationally are eligible for a wish, said spokesman Michael P. Dominick. They fill out an application, which asks recipients to outline their wish and their reasons for wanting it to come true.Make-A-Wish New Jersey and Subaru of Cherry Hill granted Clark’s wish. At Subaru, staff and volunteers wearing colorful leis waved signs at a Hawaii-themed celebration.
A hula dancer performed several routines. Clark, a senior at Highland Regional High School, was serenaded with a birthday cake.
