These U.S. cities and states have hit the pause button on reopening:
On June 11, Oregon Governor Kate Brown put a one-week pause on all further reopening efforts after seeing a spike in new cases of COVID-19 in both urban and rural areas, along with an uptick in hospitalizations in several counties. “In order to ensure that the virus is not spreading too quickly, I am putting all county applications for further reopening on hold for seven days. This is essentially a statewide ‘yellow light.
. In this phase, all residents must work from home if possible and wear masks in public. Restaurants are operating at three-quarters capacity, museums and attractions are opening at half capacity and bars are closed.On June 12, Baltimore Mayor Bernard C. “Jack” Young said his city is not ready to begin phase two of the state’s coronavirus recovery plan, which includes the reopening of indoor dining at half capacity.
Right now, the county is at Threat Level 2, meaning that it shows a “significant and uncontrolled” level of coronavirus cases. At this level, residents are to “minimize contact with others” and only visit “permissible businesses that follow public health guidance.”COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations are spiking all over the Lone Star State, but Texas Governor Greg Abbott is steaming ahead with reopening.
