The US version of The Traitors has lost the silliness that made it so addictive Review: ⭐⭐⭐
The show follows exactly the same formula: a group of strangers move to a castle in the Scottish Highlands – Cumming and Winkleman both take this sartorial inspiration very seriously – and play what is essentially an intense game of Mafia, with a large pot of money at stake.
Watching it, as they wandered haplessly around the castle and whispered their suspicions with dread in their eyes, one felt like screaming at the screen to remind them that the allocation of the roles of “traitor” and “faithful” is random, so there was little point in, for example, anxious proclamations that Amanda “wouldn’t have it in her”.
