One of Ayrshire's lesser-known beaches is a quiet gem just over 40 minutes from Glasgow that is perfect for escaping the warm weather crowds.
Spring has eh, sprung, and the rain is beginning to ease meaning the sun could be set for a return and we will soon be looking for fun days out.While Barassie, Irvine, Troon and Saltcoats may be the more popular choice for those looking to head to the coast from Glasgow, there is another less well-known gem that's also only 45 minutes or so from the city that's ideal for avoiding the fair-weather crowds and getting out for a wee wander.
However, it's as a romantic walk with the other half that it really comes into its own, thanks to the fact that on a clear sunny day, the views stretch all the way to the Isle of Arran and down the Firth of Clyde.
