Justice Clarence Thomas has been a favorite target of Democrats and the broader Left ever since he was first nominated to the Supreme Court over 30 years ago. Now that the court has a solid conservative majority, Democrats have redoubled their attacks on him, with the clear goal of undermining or disqualifying his judgments and, preferably, removing him from office.
ProPublica, which is funded by wealthy left-wing donors, reported that for over two decades, Thomas took vacations around the world with Crow, accepting free travel on Crow’s yacht and private jet. ProPublica noted that Thomas spends a week a year with Crow at a lakeside resort in the Adirondack Mountains, which includes three boathouses, a clay tennis court, and a replica of Hagrid’s hut from Harry Potter.
“Early in my tenure at the Court, I sought guidance from my colleagues and others in the judiciary, and was advised that this sort of personal hospitality from close personal friends, who did not have business before the Court, was not reportable,” he continued. “These guidelines are now being changed, as the committee of the Judicial Conference responsible for financial disclosure for the entire federal judiciary just this past month announced new guidance.
