The most popular Houston suburbs to buy a home right now, according to Q1 real estate sales
The report was determined by comparing the number of home purchases in all 206 market areas in Greater Houston last year. The most popular area, Hockley had the greatest percentage increase in home purchases in the first three months of the year at 54 percent. The average home was $340,358 in this northwest suburb — lower than the average home price in Houston, $408,647, according to the HAR report.
“As affordability remains a challenge and with the increasing popularity of remote work, we anticipate that home buyers will continue to be drawn to these outlying suburban communities,” said HAR Chair Cathy Treviño with Side, Inc.
