A rumor that has surfaced online surrounding The Mandalorian season 1 could hint towards the real reason why Din Djarin will be unmasked in season 3's finale. Since Din was captured by Moff Gideon in the Imperial base on Mandalore, theories have surfaced that The Mandalorian season 3, episode 8 would see the first - and only - unmasking of Pedro Pascal's Din Djarin for the season.

According to the rumor, Pascal was unhappy with this offer, as it was too low. Disney then compromised and included the scene in The Mandalorian's season 1 finale in which IG-11 unmasks Din. This apparently that Pascal could receive an actor’s fee, an increase on the initial payment he would have received.
