Changes could be made to live coverage of the Premier League if a new TV proposal comes to fruition.
The new plan, should it come to fruition after being submitted to TV companies in the coming weeks, will see each club receive an increase in broadcast money. As part of the plan, more top flight games are set to be made available to watch.
Sky Sports, who currently broadcast more Premier League games than anyone else, are also highly likely to want to increase the number of fixtures they show per season. Sky traditionally broadcast 128 fixtures per season. TNT tend to show matches on Saturday lunchtimes and occasionally Saturday evenings. Amazon usually have two full gameweeks per season, both of which are normally in December.
As part of the TV rules, clubs are only allowed to be given the 5.30pm Sky Sports slot six times per season, while the same number is currently allocated to TNT Sports' 12.30pm slot on a Saturday. For the Saturday 7.45pm, Sunday 2pm and Sunday 4.30pm slots, there is a maximum allocation of five and a minimum of two.
