They’re the people who just won’t give in, sometimes plodding along quietly, sometimes making noise – lots of it – when they see injustice and suffering.
They’re people like the behind-the-scenes volunteers and workers who cut through disinformation and misinformation to reach enough voters this election season so that many of the extremists who have been trying to upend our government were defeated.
The April Harrises in Hoboken, Sharon Nadrowskis in Bayonne and the food banks and donation centers countywide alleviating the pain of hunger and poverty year-round. The Pamela Johnsons and Frank Gilmores, people who don’t wring their hands about crime and violence. They push for opportunity for all as a means to stamp them out.
