Families, students and art lovers can get lessons from professional artists - as well as a brew and a cake
Whether you are a budding artist or looking to kickstart a new hobby… a new arts space will give you hands-on help from professional artists. It’s the work of the town’s Met theatre, using the space previously occupied by Automatic restaurant, which has stood empty since closing last July.
The artists behind the project say they are determined to bring art to the centre of the town - and the fun, new venue will be a world away from art stereotypes and will be a fun, welcoming space. Running for a pilot period of 8 weeks, the intention is that this project will become a permanent fixture at The Met.
At present, the space will be open Tuesdays and Wednesdays between 10am and 2pm, and then Friday between 12-5pm, Saturdays 11am-4pm and Sundays 12pm – 3pm.
