'He was witty, he was warm... we've all lost a lovely friend'
BBC Radio 2 host Sara Cox promised to 'try and do Steve Wright proud' as she opened her show moments after his death was announced. Steve, 69, had been a presenter on BBC Radio 1 and Radio 2 since the 1980s.
In a heartfelt tribute, she described Steve as 'extraordinary', as she invited her listeners to share their memories of the much-loved presenter. Sara then promised to play 'the music that he loved so much', as she began to play Glen Campbell's 1968 country recrod, Wichita Lineman.
