After a disastrous journey, The Last Voyage of the Demeter sails onto VOD platforms just under three weeks after its theatrical release.
Not many things could be as cursed as sailing on the same ship as a very peckish Dracula, but The Last Voyage of the Demeter’s box office woes have been cemented by a swift VOD debut.
With an understandable lack of pomp and ceremony from Universal Pictures, The Last Voyage of the Demeter slipped onto VOD today relatively unannounced. As is customary for a home premiere, it costs $19.99 to rent and $24.99 to buy a digital copy. André Øvredal, who directed Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, and The Autopsy of Jane Doe, has seen his adaptation of a chapter from Bram Stoker’s Dracula endure a tough time, as myriad issues have scuttled this particular ship. A shame considering how well-received Javier Botet’s Dracula has been.
