All you need is a National Lottery ticket to gain free admission and save more than £30
This weekend you can visit the historic Quarry Bank Mill for free - all you need is a National Lottery ticket or scratch card. The offer is part of National Lottery Open Week, which began on March 9 and runs until March 17, so there’s still some time to make the most of it and enjoy a day out.
Situated just over the border in Styal, Quarry Bank is an important heritage site of the Industrial Revolution with one of the best-preserved cotton mills, built by industrialist Samuel Greg, in the UK. Visitors can see working machinery from the period and visit the Apprentice House, where young workers lived in cramped conditions. It’s a place of contrast, with the mill and the workers’ quarters sitting side-by-side with the wealthy owners’ elegant Georgian home and its beautiful gardens.
