The debut Greys of Thunder color is a clever name, but this electric muscle car’s shape deserves a brighter, bolder tone of paint.
, and the mix of nostalgic touches and modern amenities is taken to the next level in the Daytona—which we think is pretty close to the eventual production model. If there's one thing about the concept's appearance that gives us pause, though, it's the color. Greys of Thunder—clever name, and undoubtedly it'd look good on the car in production and match customer preferences mainly for tones rather than colors—but it just doesn't pop.
Dark Bronze looks fantastic on early '70s Challengers, but falls a little flat on the chunkier Daytona EV.We will argue the same goes for Panther Pink. Maybe, in the flesh, in natural light, they'd work on the Daytona EV's muscular shape.The real winners here are the brighter primary colors. Charger Red looks right at home on the Daytona EV's flanks, as does the day-glo Sublime. Surprisingly, Top Banana seems to work too..
