Raiders receiver Davante Adams made headlines after Las Vegas’ 30-29 loss to the Chiefs on “Monday Night Football”as he made his way to the tunnel. It was likely the poorly-executed final play of the game that got him hot and bothered.
With less than a minute left in the game and on 4th and 1, the Raiders had a chance to move into field goal range, possibly to win the game. But instead of opting for a shorter play to extend the drive, they tried to go for it all, attempting a deep pass that would have all but guaranteed a field goal attempt had it been completed.
The problem? The timing on the play – or perhaps the design itself – appeared to be horribly off, and Adams collided with Hunter Renfrow as they both tried to get open downfield. Both receivers fell over and Derek Carr’s pass sailed well over their heads.
