Scots drivers have been feeling the crunch of the cost of living crisis at the petrol pumps as the cost of unleaded and diesel has steadily risen throughout the year. Prices at forecourts have reached astronomical heights due to a numerous factors, including the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine, a ban on Russian imported oil and rising inflation rates.
However, it looks like prices are beginning to finally drop, as multiple major supermarkets have begun to slash the prices at their pumps in a bid to help drivers with soaring costs. Tesco have become the latest retailer to cut petrol prices, with unleaded prices dropping by 6.5p a litre and diesel by 4.5p a litre. The Big Four grocer's announcement came just days after Asda kicked off the petrol price war by dropping their prices twice in one week.
