With their most recent seasons, TheBoys and StrangerThings share the same big problem 😞
Of course, none of this applies if you're just coming to these shows cold without first seeing these spoilery trailers. Still, it's an issue that's becoming increasingly more prevalent for both film and TV. If anything, film trailers are even worse as they often go through the beats of the entire story in just under three minutes, but it seems that TV fans are no longer safe from this phenomenon either.
And while it's one thing to spoil big surprises in a trailer, it's another entirely to then pretend that surprise isn't coming for a sustained period of time within the shows themselves. At best, it's annoying, and at its worst, these long periods where you have to go along with knowing the twist can undercut the emotional impact of the show as a whole.
If only all of these spoiled moments could include Jensen Ackles in the nude. Maybe then we'd be more forgiving.
