Traci Des Jardins and Robert Hurtado are teaming up for a California-driven Mexican restaurant in Silicon Valley. Inspired by Hurtado’s Mexican roots and Des Jardins maternal grandparents , they’ll offer twists on Mexican cuisine using California produce and live-fire cooking. Expect featured dishes like apricot mole made with almonds and served with confited duck.
. Marcus Jernmark has joined forces with wine director Max Coane and chef Robert Sandberg for the new venture. Coane tellsthey’re keeping details close to the vest at the moment, but the pedigree of those involved is enough to pique our interests.It’s a homecoming, of sorts, for Daniel Rose. The chef who cut his teeth in Paris with tasting menu-driven Spring, and then brought his old-school French to New York with Le Coucou, grew up in the Chicago suburbs.

Australian Open ticket limits imposed as COVID cases riseLimits on ticket sales have been introduced for the Australian Open because of surging COVID-19 cases four days before the first tennis major of 2022 is set to begin. The Victoria state government announced Thursday that ticket sales for Australian Open will be capped at 50% for any sessions that have not already sold to that level. The tournament starts Monday at Melbourne Park and the final is set for Jan. 30.
