And if it’s a man, it must be ‘handsome’, right?” This caused them to question why the word “beautiful” is a female-only adjective. “I think the intention of those who say we are beautiful is their admiration for us.
Kayla, who is Filipino-American, has always appreciated Copter’s willingness to speak up about issues concerning the LGBTQ+ community. “I know that with the pressure that a lot of [BL actors] are under, it’s probably not easy to do so, especially in a Southeast Asian country,” they say. “I was admiring their advocacy from afar, the little bits that they were doing over the years.” Fast-forward to Copter’s coming out tweets, which made her cry.
