AUSTIN, Texas -- This upcoming Tuesday’s general election features a proposition that will help state parks.
If Prop. 14 passes, people like the girls in Girl Scout Troop 78784 we caught up with at the state park may get their wish of wanting to see more state parks in Texas. The proposition would establish the Centennial Parks Conservation Fund and give the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department up to $1 billion in funding for more parkland.
“They are so critical right now and will be even more critical in the future, as we bring more Texans to this state,” said Sarver. We want them to understand what it is to appreciate and love the outdoors and have more space to go.” Alan Fisher was also out enjoying the outdoors at McKinney Falls State Park. He worked for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for over 20 years and says passing Proposition 14 is a given and has been a longtime coming.
