Sborz hadn’t allowed a run in his first 2 and 2/3 innings pitched of the season, and had been a key cog in the Rangers’ revamped relief staff. He yielded a 0.75 ERA in 10 playoff outings for Texas last fall, and pitched 2 and 1/3 scoreless innings to close out Game 5 of the World Series.When healthy, Sborz is effected, though injuries bogged down his 2023 season. He landed on the injured list three times with a right ankle sprain, left biceps tendinitis and a left hamstring strain.
Anderson, 26, debuted with the Rangers last season but fell out of favor toward the end of the season and wasn’t included on Texas’ postseason roster. He was one of the Rangers’ best pitchers in the spring and recorded a 1.35 ERA in 6 and 2/3 Cactus League innings with seven strikeouts and zero walks.Shawn McFarland
