It took a flurry of 3s and some timely shot-making down the stretch for second-seeded Texas to finally pull away from a stubborn and determined Colgate team Thursday night. The Longhorns beat the Raiders 81-61 to advance to the second round for the second straight season. Texas will face either No. 7 seed Texas A&M or No. 10 seed Penn State Saturday in the Round of 32.
Colgate cut Texas' lead to nine points with 6:01 remaining. Texas outscored the Raiders 13-2 to close the game.
