Charges dropped against Texas A&M's Ainias Smith but not teammate Chris Russell
Sam Craft/Associated PressCOLLEGE STATION — Around the same time Texas A&M receiver Ainias Smith had all charges dropped stemming from his arrest on July 20 by university police, A&M linebacker Chris Russell turned himself in at the Brazos County Jail on Friday and was released Saturday morning for his role after Smith was pulled over, according to jail records.
Meantime Russell, a senior from Tennessee, was charged with failing to identify and giving false/fictitious information in the arrest involving Smith, as Smith’s passenger. Russell provided a fake name and date of birth when asked for both by an officer, according to Lt. Bobby Richardson of university police.
