Natalie Ryan has described her cousin as an 'absolute character'
A Wirral teenager has described the "massive void" she felt in her life when her cousin and best friend died suddenly.
Natalie, 17, from Bebington told the ECHO the death even left her feeling suicidal - a feeling she had felt before. After her cousin's death caused her to miss several days of school, she was forced to re-sit some of her GCSEs. She said: "I think school was a really stressful one for me. I feel like I never really fitted in. And obviously, without prepping up for GCSEs and stuff, the depression just kind of spiralled out of control.
She said: "I've met so many people in my resit year at college, I've done so much charity work and enrichment. It proves that everything does happen for a reason." "In reality, I really just didn't want to be here anymore. And it was really, really tough situation to be in. I've had times before where I've been suicidal, but I think September 2022 was the worst it's ever been."
"Daniela knew how to help me through the suicidal thoughts. I was also able to set realistic short-term goals, so instead of asking myself where I want to be in 10 years time, I was able to ask myself where I wanted to be in four months time. This was really helpful."
