The US owner of Ted Baker said it plans to appoint administrators for the fashion retailer
Clothing brand Ted Baker is reportedly facing the threat of administration, with hundreds of jobs hanging in the balance.
The announcement came from Ted Baker's US owner, Authentic Brands Group , who revealed their plan to appoint administrators for the fashion retailer. ABG bought Ted Baker back in 2022. Sources say the trigger may have been "damage done" to the brand whilst in the hands of Dutch firm AARC. This was during the time the latter ran the Ted Baker shops and online business in Europe until January this year.John McNamara, chief strategy and transition officer at ABG, said: "We wish that there could have been a better outcome for the Ted Baker employees and stakeholders.
Ted Baker was founded by Ray Kelvin in 1988 in Glasgow. It began its journey as an exclusive shirt store but swiftly evolved to cover a broad spectrum of fashionable merchandise. Ted Baker is known for its unique style, which includes a focus on detail, bright colours and fun patterns.
