Collectively, these buildings provide almost 16.4 billion square feet of rooftop space—roughly twice the area of Memphis, Tennessee, one of the nation's 30 largest cities. Fully tapping into the nation's warehouse rooftop solar potential would slash planet-heating emissions by 112.7 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent annually. That's comparable to taking 24 million gasoline-powered cars off the road for a year or shutting down 30 coal-fired power plants.
