The Hoops are in the running for the American playmaker who is making a name for himself in Italy
Celtic are reportedly in the mix for American midfielder Tanner Tessmann after Inter's move for the Venezia playmaker dramatically collapsed.
Who is Tanner Tessmann? A central midfielder who started playing soccer at collegiate level in Alabama, Tessmann's talent was spotted by FC Dallas in MLS who signed him to their academy in 2016. Then just 15, he quickly rose through the ranks, making his first-team debut in 2021. And he was just 19 games into his career as a senior pro when he was handed his first USA cap by Gregg Berhalter.
How much will he cost? Venezia reportedly want €8m for his services - a seemingly reasonable ask, but it's thought that's what torpedoed his move to Inter, who had plans to sign him and then loan him out. Club director Filippo Antonelli told TuttoMercato, he said: “It was closed with Inter. We wanted to keep the player on loan, but he wants to go elsewhere. Inter have been looking for a solution but they still haven’t identified which club he could join on loan.
