At 7ft 2ins tall Matthew Magee, the Private Secretary to Queen Elizabeth II has garnered a lot of attention since he was spotted as part of Her Majesty's funeral procession today.
Before he became an aid to the Queen however, he had been studying at Co Down school, Sullivan Upper School, leaving as part of the 2003 class. He has been the Queen's private secretary for the past four years. Those watching the funeral today were shocked to see the height of Matthew as he walked in front of the Queen's coffin.
He was given the role in 2018 and is often mistaken for the Queen's most dedicated member of staff, Paul Whybrew, charmingly nicknamed Tall Paul. He had been a private secretary to the Duke of Kent Prince Edward and was later chosen to work for the Queen. For all the latest news, visit the Belfast Live homepage here.
