Screen Rant attended the SXSW premiere of A24's Problemista, where star Tilda Swinton shared the perfect toy, RZA discussed his character's marital struggles, and filmmaker Julio Torres opened up about collaborating again with LosEspookys actors:
A24’s latest film Problemista just had its premiere at SXSW last week. It stars Julio Torres, who is best known for writing 6 seasons of Saturday Night Live and co-creating HBO Max's much-loved but short-lived series Los Espookys, and also serves as his feature film directorial debut. He also wrote the script, which follows a Salvadorian toy designer who dreams of making it big in New York.
Screen Rant spoke to the stars of Problemista and the creatives behind the project while at SXSW. Swinton and the fellow cast members shared the perfect toy that Alejandro could design for them, while Toress and the other crew members explained how the whimsical film was crafted. Screen Rant: You have already worked with several Problemista actors on Los Espookys. What is your favorite thing about continuing these collaborations? Screen Rant: You've been everywhere lately, from You to Titans and Fire Island. What are you looking for when it comes to choosing roles? Screen Rant: What is it like working with Julio Torres on Problemista, and what is he like as a collaborator?
Greta Titelman: He puts you in a binding contract for the rest of your life, so I actually don't have a choice. [Laughs] No, he's the most collaborative person. He also is extremely trusting of everyone he works with, so there's an immediate feeling of actually wanting to hear what you have to say and how you feel, and not just feigning it. It makes you feel really confident, and I think that's such a blessing.
