Danish fashion designer Løs på tråden, creates upcycled dresses and bags using old bedsheets or waste fabric she finds in thrift stores:
It’s actually a Danish saying about someone being too ”easy” or slutty. It’s quite old-fashioned and not really used today.
“Tråden” on its own means simply “sewing thread”. So yeah – in this new way it’s me being “too easy” with my sewing skills. It took a lot of brainstorming to be able to finally settle on this name. It had to be something that could embrace all the things I can and do - sewing, embroidery, knitting, crocheting etc. Løs På Tråden ended up being the right name for my business. I think it’s about time the old saying is put to rest and can live on in a much more positive context. My brand is looking towards the fashion future, free from fast fashion and overwhelming consumption.
