One highlight of the Sylvan Beach Festival is the parade. This year, the Sylvan Beach Day Parade will be at 10 a.m. April 29.returns April 29 to La Porte with a parade, carnival rides, food and craft vendors and an entertainment lineup including Texas country performer Stoney LaRue.
Online general admission tickets to the festival for $10 are available throughout March, after which they will cost $15. The $5 ticket price for senior adults age 62 and older will remain the same. Children age 12 and under will be admitted free of charge. The Doosan Stage along the beach will be jam-packed with musicians, starting the Big Jordan Band at 12:30 and 3:30 p.m. Announcement of the festivasl's cook-off awards will be announced at 3 p.m. The cookoff itself is slated to run from 10-11 a.m.La Rue, 46, has toured the nation and performed at Nashville's Grand Ole Opry.
