BREAKING: Chicago police are responding to a report of a suspicious package near the intersection of Lake Street and Michigan Avenue in downtown Chicago.
The Chicago Police Department and the Chicago Fire Department were on scene at about 2:45 p.m. and roped off the area.DOWNLOAD THE FOX 32 NEWS APP FOR BREAKING NEWS ALERTS
While on scene, FOX 32 Chicago reporters saw officers and a police robot enter Citi Bank, which is located on Michigan Avenue. It is unclear at this point if there is any connection between the investigation inside the bank and the suspicious package found.

Letter: Sewage, fertilizers and contaminated soil: A few questions about ‘saving’ Utah Lake by building islandsI have a couple of questions for the people at Lake Restoration Solutions (LRS). These are the folks that supposedly want to “save” Utah Lake. In a Tribune article a few months ago LRS identified two main problems causing the pollution in Utah Lake. One was treated wastewater being dumped into the lake. The other was agriculture runoff containing contaminants from fertilizer and pesticides. LRS has an ambitious goal of building several islands in the middle of Utah Lake and creating a new settlement of up to 500,000 people. That’s more than twice the population of Provo and Orem combined.

Woman accused of throwing kids in lake charged with murderA Louisiana woman accused of throwing two of her children into a lake has been indicted on charges of murder and attempted murder. Ureka Rochelle Black, 33, of Shreveport, was charged with second-degree murder in the death of 10-month-old Joshua Calif Black, the Caddo Parish District Attorney’s Office said in a news release Wednesday. Conviction on that charge would bring an automatic sentence of life in prison.
