A man has been accused of ABH, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and dangerous driving following an incident in Blackburn.
Police were called to Fawcett Close on the afternoon of Friday, March 24, following reports that a man in his 40s had been attacked. At the scene officers found the victim had sustained head injuries and he was flown to the Royal Preston Hospital for treatment. Lee Pearson, of Lincoln Place, Haslingden, was arrested in Accrington on Saturday and has today been charged. The 31-year-old has been remanded to appear before Blackburn Magistrates Court on Monday morning.In a statement, the force said: " Lancashire Police have charged a man with assault after an incident in Fawcett Close, Blackburn. At around 3.20pm on Friday , officers were called to Fawcett Close to a report that a man in his 40s had been attacked and sustained head injuries.
"After consultations with the Crown Prosecution Service, Lee Pearson, 31, of Lincoln Place, Haslingden, has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, affray, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and dangerous driving. He has been remanded to appear before Blackburn Magistrates Court on Monday morning ."
