Residents of Surrey will see 10,000 charging points installed at more than 1,500 locations by 2030.
It is hoped the rollout will improve the ratio of chargers to Surrey residents - currently just one per 9,000
Surrey Country Council said the move towards electric vehicles was part of the authority's commitment to becoming a carbon net zero county by 2050.
