The 38 new Surrey gritters produce less carbon emissions than their predecessors, the county council saysA fleet of new gritting vehicles is set to be introduced on roads in Surrey this winter.
They will grit Surrey's roads before and during severe weather, using 10,000 tonnes of salt stored at four depots. Matt Furniss, from Surrey County Council, said: "We're committed to keeping drivers safe here in Surrey and investing in our roads.
