Yet for all the celebrations in Team Truss that she has made it to 10 Downing Street, it’s hard to escape the fact that she is inHer margin of victory among the membership was narrower than the polls suggested – she won 57 per cent of the vote.

Combine this with the multiple challenges coming down the track – from the energy bill crisis to the Northern Ireland Protocol – and it’s not hard to see why MPs are already speculating about how long she will last.
