Yikes. A supermarket has pulled a Christmas item from sale hours after it was launched over concerns it could be associated with terror group Hamas. Australian brand Kmart launched its AU$4 ‘Merry ham-mas’ bags earlier today – but the brand quickly received a complaint from the Australian Jewish Association . The AJA quipped that associating the Christmas period with a designated terror group was ‘really not a good look’ – and within hours the product had been taken off the Kmart website.
The AJA said on X, formerly Twitter: ‘Kmart stuff up! ‘Check out the special Christmas bag currently available via Kmart online. Yes, it’s real! ‘Although this is potentially funny it’s really not a good look. ‘We suspect some product manager may cause the company some embarrassment. ‘So we’ve politely written to Wesfarmers corporate suggesting the product be pulled.
