Which ads did you think were smart, and which did you think were stupid?
CLEVELAND, Ohio – Several commercials landed hits, some had us laughing, and one in particular was a disaster. When it came to the ads, Super Bowl 56 ran the gamut of smart to stupid.Uber Eats used humor to deliver a message – that the company doesn’t just deliver food. Jennifer Coolidge, Gwyneth Paltrow, Trevor Noah and others hilariously try to eat non-edible items. “Thanks to Uber Eats, we don’t even know what food is anymore,” we’re told. You laugh, you get the message. Nicely done.
USA Today said the ad cost about $13 million. The company’s app reportedly crashed after the commercial aired.No advertiser has the cache that Budweiser has for its decades of messages and products beamed through to our televisions during the big game. And few images are more iconic than the Clydesdales, the majestic animals that the company has used over the years. But Sunday’s commercial with the horse was disastrous.
