The Radford family have shared a clip of their flight home from holiday trying to land at Manchester Airport during Storm Babet. Storm Babet took the country by surprise last week with widespread flooding and disruption.
A total of 13 areas broke their daily rainfall records for October last week, including sites in Suffolk, South Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Wiltshire, Kincardineshire, North Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire, Northumberland, Derbyshire and Humberside, the Met Office said. Countless flights had to be diverted to other airports because it was unsafe to land.Across the UK, a number of airports had problems with flights trying to land.
Emergency services rushed to the scene of the incident but later confirmed nobody was hurt. Posting on Instagram, the Radford family said: "This was us trying to land during Storm Babet. This was the first attempt before the pilot aborted landing. "We then got diverted to Birmingham as he just couldn't land the plane in Manchester. These pilots are amazing." It comes just hours after Noel and Sue surprised vans with a video of their trip to Dubai earlier this month.
The couple from Morecambe posted the three-minute clip on Facebook last night and shows them enjoying a camel ride, dune buggy bashing and surfing down a sand dune. When a fan asked "thought you were at Haven holiday park", the Radford's replied "this was filmed the other week". Then fan then joked: "Confusing lol".
