There's a new hub to help rideshare drivers gain access to safety resources, legal support and support networks.
The Chicago Police Department is issuing a warning to rideshare drivers and customers after a recent string of carjackings on the city’s West Side.
“This happened really, really fast, and I didn’t have much time for thinking,” he said. “The panic response where I floored it to try to get away was ineffective because the person was already in the car.” According to CPD, five carjackings happened in the West Garfield Park and Austin neighborhoods the following month.
