Sunday's results show opened with a 1960s Bob Fosse-inspired performance before an 'extremely close' dance-off
Strictly viewers were divided by what some called a 'strange' dance from the professionals to open Sunday's results show. The Bob Fosse-inspired 1960s routine was all jazz, chairs and soul.
@flossybball said: "That was a very odd opening number" while @alexr_241 shared a photo of Pete and Jenny from Gogglebox open-mouthed and looking unimpressed, writing: "Everyone watching that strange opening pro dance." For @Jamal06122771, the dance had Austin Powers vibes. He said: "The opening performance was probably a tribute to Bob Fosse work, but it reminded me of Mike Myers in Austin powers. The male dancers, at the back, wasn't needed. It may not have been everyone's cup of Tea, but they delivered professionally."
Meanwhile comedian Eddie Kadi and professional partner Karen Hauer were the fourth pair to be eliminated after a dance-off described as “extremely close” by one of the judges. It came after their samba to Calm Down by Rema ft Selena Gomez failed to impress. The couple faced Zara McDermott and Graziano Di Prima in the dance-off following the public vote.
"More importantly, this little African boy, I just wanted my culture to shine. Everything I stand for, when it comes to my comedy, when it comes to my presenting, is based on my culture, is based on my upbringing and I wanted that to shine most importantly.
