Sherlock star Amanda Abbington has broken her silence on her decision to quit Strictly, however she failed to mention her Strictly dance partner Giovanni Pernice in her statement
The 49 year old Sherlock star took to Instagram to share a snap of her dancing shoes, as well as a lengthy message in which she addressed her departure from the BBC show.
Her message read: "It is with deepest regret that I had to leave Strictly. I did not come to this decision easily or lightly but for personal reasons I am unable to continue. It was an absolute joy working with my fellow contestants, they are a beautiful, hardworking and talented group of people who I love and who I will miss seeing every Friday and Saturday and competing alongside.
It Takes Two host Fleur East said: "Amanda Abbington is unable to continue in Strictly Come Dancing and has decided to withdraw from the competition.It comes after the actress didn't perform live on Saturday, alongside the other celebrities on the show, due to a mystery 'medical reason'.
