Angela Rippon cut herself on her pointy dance shoes just minutes before she went out on stage
Medics were called minutes before a star performed on BBC's Strictly Come Dancing after suffering a horror injury.
The 79-year-old hurt herself after a last minute rehearsal with dance professional partner, Kai Widdrington. However, Angela was determined to carry on and the pair performed their dance, the MEN reports.Writing for The Telegraph, she explained what had happened. Angela said: “Well Saturday’s Strictly is one that I won’t forget in a hurry – and I’m not talking about my shoe falling off or doing the splits.
“When I looked down, my leg was bleeding from a cut on my right shin. The razor-sharp edge of my high-heeled dance shoe had sliced off a bit of flesh while I was doing a twisting manoeuvre. Angela added: "Out in the studio, everything continued without a hitch. No one in the audience, including the judges, had a clue about what was unfolding backstage. The show went on! What a team."
