Ross Duffer, co-creator of Stranger Things, hints at a more prominent role for Will Byers, portrayed by Noah Schnapp, in the upcoming fifth season of the Netflix series. Duffer believes that Will's emotional journey will serve as a unifying element for the entire show, as he transitions from being the young and introverted character to one who takes center stage.
“Will really takes center stage again in 5,” Duffer said. “This emotional arc for him is what we feel is going to hopefully tie the whole series together. Will is used to being the young one, the introverted one, the one that’s being protected. So part of his journey, it’s not just sexuality — it’s Will coming into his own as a young man.
