Dillian Whyte shouted out by Stormzy following feud which originated in 2015
The superstar recording artist refenced aGettyTheir feud originated from 2015 when Whyte was due to fight Anthony Joshua for the British heavyweight title.
The clash of north London’s AJ and south London’s Whyte was a heated affair and saw a tense build-up between the pair who shared ill-feeling towards one another. In a surprise twist at the O2 Arena on fight night, Joshua recruited Stormzy – who at this point was only beginning to emerge as a mainstream artist – to rap his hit ‘Shut Up’ for the ring walk.Despite hailing from south London, Stormzy was friendly with Joshua and so agreed to perform an adapted version of the tune.“Man’s spinnin’ Dillian like Beyblades. Whyte told iFL TV a couple of months after the fight: “Listen, if you’re from south London you know what the codes are from day one.Sky“Stormzy’s talking rubbish about, ‘Chat s*** get banged.’ You think Stormzy would say that to my face?“I’d knock him out. I’d give him the real one-bang and knock him out.The rapper hit back with a few lines at the end of his ‘One Take’ freestyle not long later.This time, Stormzy’s final lyrics were: “I clocked it, my man’s lost it.
“You cannot hate on a man that’s doing well. That thing at the fight was part of launching his career, so it’s a business.“At the time, I was a bit annoyed about it, but you can’t take these things personally. You have to learn to forgive and move on.“I cannot hate on a man for doing good and feeding his family.”In Stormzy’s new single ‘Mel Made Me Do It’, he has namechecked Whyte in a positive light in the same line as football superstar Kylian Mbappe.
