Why Steve Sarkisian is sticking with Quinn Ewers at QB for Texas
Coach Steve Sarkisian’s play-calling approach has also at times skewed too heavily toward intermediate-to-deep throws, even when those shots weren’t hitting. “No,” Sarkisian said. “It’s hard with a quarterback because you put it all on the quarterback when things don’t go well, and then when things go really well it’s the quarterback who saved the day. The reality of it is we need to play better as a unit, we need to coach better as a staff and we need to make sure that we’re doing a better job of giving our players that confidence and putting them in position to have success. And clearly, those things didn’t happen .
