Martha-Ann Alito, the wife of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito, is on Steve Bannon's shortlist to become Donald Trump's vice president pick.Trump is the presumptive Republican nominee for the 2024 presidential election. Martha-Ann Alito was in the spotlight this month after her husband said she was responsible for displaying an upside-down American flag outside the couple's home following the 2020 presidential election.
'Trump has previously said that he expects to name his pick at the Republican National Convention in July. Some other contenders include Senator Marco Rubio, Senator J.D. Vance and Representative Elise Stefanik.Newsweek reached out to Trump's campaign by email for comment.On Wednesday, Alito declined to recuse himself from cases involving Trump and the January 6 Capitol riot, saying that 'reasonable' people aren't questioning his ability to remain impartial.
